We provide emergency services 24 hours a day/7 days a week to children when present with parent(s) or are referred by other health professionals.
Referring a Patient for Inpatient Care
We provide intensive neonatal care services including initial resuscitation, ventilation for transporting the babies, and long-term ventilation, if required, to extremely premature babies or babies who are sick for any other reason. This includes babies in our hospital or transported from other hospitals in the region.
We have the facilities to provide intensive care services to very sick older children, which service is provided exclusively at our hospital in the whole of this province .In addition to the intensive care services, we also provide care to newborn and older children with general medical care issues including photo therapy, exchange transfusion, and intravenous rehydration to children with diarrhoea and vomiting.
We have designated Specialist paediatric out patient clinics in addition to general medical out patients clinics run by Consultant on particular days of the clinics. The specialist paediatric clinics are up and running at the moment are

Emergency Department and Medical Officer-led Clinics
These clinics are running 24 hours a day/7 days a week and can be accessed by walking in.
Neonatal Transfer and Retrieval Services
Building on our paediatric retrieval service, we now provide a transfer service for seriously ill children and infants who need to be transferred from other hospitals in our area to our hospital for intensive care services.
Diagnostic and Specialty Pathology and Radiology Services
Our diagnostic and pathology services support the acute medical work but they also provide specialist services for many professionals in the healthcare professions and business.
